aidans trust
Aidan is 7 years
old and has cerebral palsy. He is a bright and happy little boy and
whilst he is affected severely he still wants to play, paint and do
what his brothers do.
aidans trust
began in 2003 after we discovered that a ‘dynamic lycra suit’ that
we believed would help Aidan with his truncal strength and
stability, may cost up to £2000!! And as they are generally
required every 3-6 months, it was not something that we were able to
afford on a regular basis. The first event was a Halloween Party in
2003 and the support it received was fantastic and truly surpassed
any expectations. Since then we have held a quiz night, a family funday
and other parties, all equally as popular as that first night in November
2003.
There are two
proposed aims for this website. Firstly, to inform of future
fundraisers and showcase recent events that have been held. Aidan
will continue to need equipment (some of which is not provided by
the Local Health Authority) and we will continue with his therapies
and luckily, with the generous help of friends and family we will be
able to continue with these issues. Secondly, and I believe more
importantly, to act as an information base for parents who have
children with disabilities. There is a wealth of bodies out there
to help and advise us but I feel there should be more accessible
information in one place (see Contact a Family). As a long term
aim, I would like to provide this kind of service.
